The quarterly meeting of the Sacred Heart CCW was held on November 8th, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Rectory. Seven members were in attendance.
The meeting was called to order with an opening prayer entitled “Thoughts from St. Teresa of Calcutta”. The secretary’s report was read and Judy Anderson made a motion and Rhonda Damm seconded the motion to approve the minutes. There was no correspondence. The secretary’s report reported a total expense of $3412.10 with an income of $250 from a funeral. The current balance on hand was $4102.00 Collette Leopold made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and Mackenzie Erickson seconded the motion, motion passed. An outstanding bill was discussed regarding the WACCW dues that will be due in the future. The bill has not yet been received. The NCCW dues of $100 are due now. Carmen Rasche made a motion and Judy Anderson seconded the motion to pay these bills, motion passed. The CCW received a request to donate to the Seminarian Burse as well as a request to donate to the Annual Appeal. A motion was made to make a donation for $1000 for the Catholic Ministries Appeal and $500 for the Seminarian Burse by Mackenzie Erickson and seconded by Marsha Edwards, motion passed.

The next WACCW meeting will be a newsletter so members will not need to travel. Discussion was held regarding purchasing a pew card for the prayers during mass. Collette Leopold made a motion to adjourn and Carmen Rasche seconded the motion, motion passed. The closing prayer was read of Our Lady of Good Counsel. The next CCW meeting will be held on February 14th, 2017 at 7:00 PM.

The quarterly CCW meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. with an opening prayer, “Mary’s Yes.” The secretary’s report was read and a motion was made by Judy Anderson and seconded by Joanne Waldron to approve the report. Motion passed.
Carmen gave the treasurer’s report stating a balance of $7264.10 as of June 30, 2016. The following bills were presented: Hy-Vee $10.98 and Fareway $10.97 for ice cream bars and napkins; Hy-Vee $87.56 for WACCW refreshments; Expressway $378.70 for ice cream bars; WDCCW dues $450 (150 ladies x $3) Motion was made by Joanne, seconded by Rhonda Damm to pay these bills. Motion passed.
Discussion was held on contributing to any of the WDCCW entities and the decision was made to make our contribution to the Sacred Heart Foundation instead. Motion was made by Barb Hussong and seconded by Elaine Stenzel to donate $2000 to the Sacred Heart Foundation. Motion passed.
Sara Bartosh, DRE, asked if SHCCW would be willing to donate funds to purchase a flat screen tv/blue ray player to be housed at the rectory for use by the Confirmation program. A motion was made by Elaine Stenzel and seconded by Carmen Rasche to provide the funds for this purchase. Motion passed.

The quarterly CCW meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm with an opening devotion entitled “Grace.” The secretary’s report was read and a motion was made by Barb Hussong to accept the minutes and Elaine Stenzel seconded the motion. The motion passed and the minutes were approved. The treasurer’s report was read with a balance of $1070.22 with a report of $6617.61 of income with a current balance of $7718.25. Maurita Volk had a bill for $35.84 for May Baskets. There was an outstanding bill for postage of $127.40, Styrofoam plates for $78.09, electric knife purchase of $29.99, a bill for $309.71 to Hy Vee for coffee and rolls, $21.87 to Eva Rostomily for the Lakeview Birthday Party, and $31 for the Tri County News for fun day advertising and Elaine Stenzel had a bill of $237.96 for quilting supplies. A motion was made by Colette Leopold and seconded by Judy Anderson to pay these bills. The motion passed unanimously.
Twenty May Baskets were delivered to shut ins by Maurita Volk. A thank you was received on behalf of the IHM seminary for the donation that was made to the Seminarian Burse. Ten bags of mulch were used for the landscaping project. Barb Hussong reimbursed the CCW for the unused bags.

Secretary’s Report
The November meeting of the Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women was called to order at 7:00 PM with an opening meditation entitled “Did Jesus ever laugh?”
The meeting was called to order. The secretary’s report was read and approved by the President. The treasurer’s report was read with expenses totaling $2,276.95 and $600 income. The balance on hand was $5833.13 with an anticipated bill of approximately $525 for ice cream, paper goods and CCW dues. The President approved the treasurer’s report.
A bill was presented to pay the Worthington Area CCW dues of $38.50 are due (.25 x 154 members). Judy Anderson made a motion to pay the bill and Eva Rostomily seconded, motion passed. A bill was presented to pay the National CCW dues of $100. Elaine Stenzel made a motion and Celia Henkels seconded to pay the bill, the motion passed.
Discussion was held regarding donations to various organizations. A request was read from Bishop Quinn to donate to the Seminarian Burse. Discussion was held regarding the $6,000 deficit from the annual appeal as well as the Sacred Heart Foundation. A spreadsheet was presented that reviewed the donations from the CCW from the past 7 years. Discussion was held and Judy Anderson Made a motion to donate $2000 to the Sacred Heart Foundation and $500 to the Seminarian Burse. Cleo Miranowski seconded the motion, motion passed.
