The Worthington Area Council of Catholic Women participated in the "Box of Joy" program, which is a ministry of Cross Catholic Outreach. Each Box of Joy will be delivered to a child in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, or Nicaragua. In these countries, thousands of poor children experience a Christmas without hope. Burdened by poverty, their parents are simply too poor to provide anything but the most basic necessities. These are children who have never held a picture book. Never worn a new shirt. Never owned a toy. These gifts show God's unconditional love and spark the joy every child should experience at Christmas. More important, they are symbolic of God's greatest gift, his son Jesus Christ.
